Pluralism does not mean the elimination of difference, but the embrace of difference.  Genuine pluralism understands that diversity does not weaken a society, it strengthens it.  In an ever-shrinking, ever more diverse world, a genuine sense of pluralism is the indispensable foundation for human peace and progress.

After this practice you will have a smile on your face and will be radiating all that love. Click here to watch.

STEM Fair
The entire Jamat is invited to showcase photos, videos, drawings or written work of a project that is related to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

• Who can participate? Everyone

• What do I need to do? Create a project that is related to STEM.

• What type of project? It can be an experiment, a coding project, a presentation, a poem, a piece of artwork - the choice is yours, as long as it is related to STEM.

• How do we document the project? Through video, photographs, a presentation

Ramadan Calendar for Children
Today, think about what you’d like to improve on in your day-to-day life. How might these improvements make a contribution to your family, to the Jamat, and others?

Volunteers’ Voice
Over the last few weeks, teams all over the UK, many of whom have been IVC members, have been out to assist people through the COVID-19 pandemic. The IVC team from South London Jamatkhana have been helping vulnerable people and children through their work with the Croydon Voluntary Action group (CVA). Over the last few weeks, they have collected clothes and food to help those most in need, including the homeless and children. To read more about this wonderful service, please click here.
If you would like to volunteer with the COVID-19 response, please go to the IIUK website, and click on the purple box on the right hand side to register. (You may be asked to update your details before registering)
Face Coverings - Film Yourself Making Yours
Ismaili CIVIC and the COVID-19 response are looking for clips of people demonstrating how to make and wear a face covering (for example, explaining how to make one using a bandana). Your clips would then be made into a longer video, with the rough format of an introduction, demonstration video, core health guidance and  putting the covering on safely.
Instructions on how to make your face covering, guidance on how to film your video and more can be found here.
Please e-mail your submissions to civic@iiuk.org by Friday 8th May.
Webinars for Businesses, Employers & Individuals
Many organisations and large companies outside the community are offering guidance on how to navigate the current economic climate. To help you get started, the Aga Khan Economic Planning Board has put together a list of useful webinars and resources. Watch the videos on the AKEPB External Webinars page.
ITREB Thought of the Day #MondayMotivation
Many of us may now have the opportunity to slow down and perhaps, spend more time with our family units. This time allows us to re-evaluate our lifestyle, to ensure we take pride in the lives we lead. In a recent interview, award-winning researcher and bestselling author Brené Brown shared her philosophy that there are three kinds of families: parent-focused, kid-focused  and family-focused families. According to her, the ideal kind is the third one. Family-focused families make choices in the best interests of the whole unit. Both parents and children make sacrifices in their respective lives to create better balance, harmony and collective happiness. During the month of Ramadan, how can we use this time to strive towards being family-focused for the benefit of ourselves and our loved ones?
