"Our history, our interpretation of our faith is anchored in the intellect and we rejoice in investing in the human intellect. It’s part of the ethics of what we believe in and it’s part of what we believe distinguishes us obviously from the environment in which we live."

Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme
The government has introduced the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme to try and protect jobs and incomes at this time.  Through the scheme, the government commits to cover 80% of the wages of ‘furloughed workers,’ up to £2,500 per month.  A ‘furloughed worker’ is someone who remains employed but is not provided with work.  The aim of the scheme is to ensure that employers who cannot afford to pay staff wages do not make redundancies.  Furloughed employees can find more information on how this will impact them by clicking here.

Health Passport
Do not go anywhere without your Health Passport!  The Health Passport contains key information about you, your medical condition and who to contact in the case of emergency.  Complete the easy-to-read table either digitally or in manuscript, save it to your phone, forward it to your next-of-kin and print it off to carry with you at all times.  It can provide reassurance for you and your loved ones that this essential information is close at hand and can be referred to in case of emergencies.  The Health Passport is particularly helpful for key/essential workers who are away from home and individuals who are living alone.

ITREB Thought of the Day: #FridayFaith
As human beings, we are uncomfortable with uncertainty.  We want to know what is happening around us all the time.  Our minds are constantly thinking about the future, with hopes, expectations, and goals. Though it seems obvious, the future has not yet happened, and we cannot know for certain what it holds. One response would be for each of us to do our part as best as possible, and have faith that our combined individual efforts will soon unite to build a hopeful, more positive, and flourishing world for us all.  Today, let us place our faith in hope, so that we may collectively overcome our fear of the unknown.
