Greater “connectivity” does not necessarily mean greater “connection.”

Information travels more quickly, in greater quantities these days.  But the incalculable multiplication of information can also mean more error, more exaggeration, more misinformation, more disinformation, more propaganda.  The world may be right there on our laptops, but the truth about the world may be further and further away.

Financial Services Compensation Scheme
Deposits held in banks, building societies and credit unions that are authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) are protected up to £85,000 (£170,000 for joint accounts).  This includes, for example, eligible deposits in current accounts, savings accounts, cash ISAs or savings bonds.  The Jamat is advised to keep their deposits fully protected by splitting their deposits across different PRA-authorised firms.  Further information on how savings are protected can be found here.

ITREB Thought of the Day: #SaturdaySchool
Did you know, in hoping to learn more about Allah’s creation, the notable female astronomer Mariam al-Ijliya advanced and fine-tuned Greek instruments such as the astrolabe in 10th-century Syria?  The astrolabe helped to establish time, measured the movement of planets and stars, and determined position when travelling, thus making a significant contribution to what would later become known as space science.  This weekend, why not take a moment to look up at the night sky, and see what you can find?
