"I think all of you have had the pleasure – in your personal life or your professional life – of seeing a fascinating story develop happily from beginning to end.  We recall the excitement of a new beginning – as well as that deep sense of grateful satisfaction when the planning works – when the hope is realised, and the vision is achieved."

Share your Weekend with Us
As we spend time at home, we may come across new ways to pass time. Perhaps we have taken up painting, poetry or pottery. Share photos or videos of your new hobbies with us at communications@iiuk.org. For example, the Moti family from Leicester shared their pastime of dancing with the Jamat - try out their dance class here.
Online Educational Resources
The UK government has provided an initial list of online educational resources (all currently free) to support learning at home. These resources may be useful for parents in considering how they could support their children’s education, but they should not be used in place of existing resources which schools may be using as part of their continued provision for pupils’ education at this time. The list includes resources for: English, maths, science, PE, wellbeing and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Save Money If You’re Not Using Your Car
If you are not using your car due to the lockdown, which restricts driving to essential journeys only, you may want to consider Statutory Off Road Notification (SORN). This means you agree to take your car off public roads (including public/street parking) in exchange for a refund on any remaining full months of car tax that you have already paid for. If you SORN your car, you are not legally obliged to continue insuring it though this means the car won’t be covered for theft or damage. This doesn’t apply to electric cars, which are already tax exempt. For further details on how to SORN your car, visit the Which? Website.
Finding Our New Normal
Finding our new normal is an online programme brought to us by Aga Khan Health Board, hosted by Femida Hirji. This  is an opportunity for parents to consider how to structure Easter Weekend, and the days or weeks ahead to enable all our needs to be met as families. ITREB Thought of the Day: #SaturdaySchool
The great intellectuals and scholars of the Muslim world provide an example of the rich heritage of learning and quest which eventually contributed towards the flourishing of global civilisation, particularly in the field of science. The 11th-century scientist Hasan Ibn al-Haytham spent much of his time in the Fatimid capital of Cairo, and was an early proponent of the scientific method, or the concept of proving a hypothesis based on experimentation and verifiable evidence. In a crucial development, al-Haytham was the first to explain the theory of vision, which occurs when light bounces off an object and then to the eye. This finding paved the way for the modern science of optics.
