Tenderness and kindness are not signs of weakness and despair, but manifestations of strength and resolutions.

Introducing the Ramadan Calendar
ITREB and the UK Jamati Institutions are pleased to present the 2020 Ramadan Calendar. The activities suggested for each day of Ramadan motivate children to learn more about the natural environment, Allah’s creation, and the world around us, through the values of being compassionate, caring, kind, and respectful. While the calendar has been designed with children in mind, we hope the activities engage the whole family in supporting and motivating each other throughout the month-long journey of Ramadan. Click to view and download the calendar in English and German. While facing a difficult situation in the world today, we can still come together virtually and observe Ramadan with a sense of hope and resolve as One Jamat.

The Importance of Vitamin D
Vitamin D is an essential vitamin that is required for several important functions in the body. We know it best for its role in maintaining bone health but it is also crucial for the functioning of the immune system. The best source of Vitamin D is through exposing the skin to natural sunlight. During this unprecedented time of the Coronavirus pandemic when we are spending most of our time indoors, adequate sun exposure may not be possible and therefore it is crucial that we continue to supplement our bodies with Vitamin D. For tailored advice on how much Vitamin D you need, consult your GP, for more information on this Vitamin, see here.

ITREB Thought of the Day: #WednesdayWisdom
Every year, 22 April marks Earth Day, when we are all encouraged to take positive action for the benefit of the natural environment. One of the silver linings of the current pandemic might be a dramatic reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution around the world due to the restriction of flights, car journeys, and harmful industrial activity. We now have a sense of a cleaner and brighter future. While at home during this time, we can care for the earth by reducing our negative impact on the environment and instead, take steps to help it flourish. Simple things like using less water, and planting flowers in your garden or home can help. Allah has entrusted us to be responsible for the earth, and it is our duty to care for the natural world. Take some time to reflect, and make some positive changes to benefit the environment. Let’s make everyday Earth Day.
