Writing a will
In the UK last year, more than 40% of deceased passed away without having a will, often because it seemed premature to write a will, or the rules appeared too complicated. A will is an important way to protect your family and loved ones. It can potentially save you tax and avoid family disputes about how your assets should be divided. Click here to read advice from the legal team on writing your will.
For further guidance regarding writing a will, the Legal Committee can be contacted at legalteam@iiuk.org.
Everyday this month, we will share daily activities for children and families to come together, observe, and commemorate Ramadan. To download the calendar in full, click here for English and German.

3 Steps to Protect yourself From Fraud
Scams and fraudsters are using the uncertainty of the current climate to target innocent individuals and businesses. To protect yourself from fraud, follow these 3 simple steps:
  1. Stop – Take a minute to think before responding to a request or providing information.
  2. Challenge – Remember, it is perfectly okay to reject or refuse a request. Especially if you are unsure. Simply confirm if the situation is genuine by using publicly available contact information for organisations.
  3. Protect – Take immediate action if you feel you have been scammed. Ensure that you regularly update your software and change your passwords to keep yourself secure online.

ITREB Thought of the Day: #ThankfulThursday
For Muslims, fasting from sunrise to sunset during the month of Ramadan brings many benefits, from physical detox to mental clarity and spiritual upliftment, as well as Divine blessings. It also teaches us to be grateful for the blessings in our lives. Enduring a day without the comfort of a cup of tea or choosing not to refuel our energy at lunchtime helps us to experience what it’s like to go hungry, and creates empathy for those who do not have access to food and water most days of their lives. In 2019, 815 million people in the world went hungry. Fasting for Ramadan, we know we will quench our thirst and hunger at sunset. The less fortunate do not know where their next meal will come from. This Ramadan let us give thanks for the abundance in our lives and practice generosity towards those facing difficulty.
