My dear Sisters and Brothers,

Ya Ali Madad

As we celebrate Eid ul-Fitr, we also express our gratitude to Allah for the Divine Grace and Mercy in our lives.  On this occasion, we also submit our humble shukrana to Mawlana Hazar Imam for his leadership and beautiful message of felicitations for Eid ul-Fitr.

Coming to the end of a month that signifies self-reflection and sacrifice, let us seek out ways in which we can support the communities in which we live, especially at this time. Let us also continue to turn inwards and reaffirm our allegiance to Mawlana Hazar Imam, our beacon of hope and inspiration.

Eid this year will be remembered for generations to come. Although we cannot congregate in person, our global Jamat has united to bring us a programme which reminds us that we are part of a community who can accomplish the incredible when we put our heads and hearts together. We hope you will enjoy the programme that has been curated for you.

Best wishes,
Naushad Jivraj
President of the UK Jurisdiction National Council

Eid ul-Fitr Programme
Today, Sunday 24th May marks Eid ul-Fitr. Join our jurisdiction at the.ismaili/uk/live at 11am BST tomorrow for a very special Eid Programme.  Once our jurisdiction’s programme concludes, we will join the rest of the global Jamat at the.ismaili/tv for the Shukrana Concert.
Shukrana Concert
Although Eid ul-Fitr will be different this year, it will remain an occasion for celebration, gratitude, and coming together, virtually. In this spirit, The Ismaili TV is pleased to host the Shukrana Concert, a multi-day musical extravaganza featuring Ismaili music artists from across the world.
The concert is centred on the theme of shukrana. The root word shukr denotes thankfulness and gratitude in a number of languages, including Arabic, Farsi, Urdu, and Hindi. The Ismaili welcomes you to this online celebration of Eid, when we will join on 24, 25, and 26 May to give thanks and celebrate as One Jamat, together at home. View The Ismaili TV live

In every country The AKDN has a presence, it is now responding to the COVID-19 pandemic — providing urgent humanitarian assistance, slowing the virus’s spread, caring for the infected, or addressing the broader disruption of essential services and livelihoods. We are pleased to inform the Jamat that Mawlana Hazar Imam has authorized the establishment of a Global Pandemic Relief Fund to serve as the central funding vehicle for support to the Jamat and AKDN institutions in response to COVID-19. If you wish to support these efforts, or find out more information about AKDN’s initiatives, please visit: www.akf.org.uk/pandemicfund.

ITREB Thought of the Day
Traditionally, Eid ul-Fitr begins at sunset on the night of the first sighting of the crescent moon, marking the beginning of the month of Shawwal. In some countries in the Middle East and Asia, the festival is a public holiday, and is celebrated for one to three days.
The universal greeting of Eid Mubarak is recognised across the world. This year especially, one might also use the particularly apt Arabic greeting of kullu ‘am wa antum bikhair, meaning “may you have good health throughout the year.” As we celebrate Eid, we express our gratitude for the blessings which have graced our lives. On this day, we also extend our compassion and generosity to our brothers and sisters in faith, and to humanity as a whole.
Although this year we are physically separate, we remain spiritually connected always as One Jamat.
