Let me repeat, in conclusion, that a cosmopolitan ethic is one that will honour both our common humanity and our distinctive Identities — each reinforcing the other as part of the same high moral calling. The central lesson of my own personal journey — over many miles and many years — is the indispensability --of such an ethic in our changing world, based on the timeless truth that we are — each of us and all of us — “born of a single soul.”
Non-Eviction Ban for Renters Extended
The Government has extended the ban on evictions put in place in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. The announcement means no tenant can be evicted from private or socially rented housing in England and Wales until at least 23 August 2020. The original ban had been due to end on 25 June 2020. If a landlord wants to evict a tenant in England or Wales, they will need to give at least 3 months' notice before starting proceedings to do so. The Government has also said that it is working with the courts and judges to devise a set of rules to help those who have been particularly affected by Covid-19 to ensure that they are protected when evictions restart. For more on recent changes by the Government, visit the Savvy Saving page by AKEPB.

Reminder! VAT Payments and Covid-19 Deferrals
Business owners in the Jamat are reminded that the VAT deferral measure introduced by the Government on 8 April 2020 was for VAT payments due to HMRC between 20 March 2020 and 30 June 2020 only. Payments can be deferred until 31‌‌ March 2021. However, VAT payments due after 30 June 2020 will still need to be paid in full and on time to avoid late payment charges. ITREB Thought of the Day
The beautiful names of Allah. Al-Mumin means the Inspirer of Faith. It is al-Mumin who gives the gift of faith to us. This faith makes us loyal to God and to the people in our lives. When we are faithful, grace flows into our lives. Such faith is not blind; It is based on seeing clearly from the heart. As the Holy Qur’an says: “As for the faithful, both men and women - they are protectors of one another…” (9:71). Think about how you can be more faithful - are there family or friends who need your support? Is this a time when you could use their support?
